Spot Auto Engineering was established in 1983 By founder Dev, and passed on to his son, Simon, who now acts as Managing Director, Spot Auto Engineering provides quality engine reconditioning for all makes and models of cars, specialising in 3 cylinder to V12 engines.
Reconditioning of all popular cars ranging from Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen and many more have been carried out providing a service second to none.

Spot Auto Engineering supply such services as engine valve refacing, cylinder head seat cutting & skimming, soda & bead blasting, ultra sonic cleaning, machining, crankshaft grinding, cylinder block rebores, headwork, servicing, M.O.T preparation and much more.

MEET THE TEAM

PETE RHODES
Pete Rhodes is 62 years old he started in the trade in 1973 and his role within the company is the main engine builder with a wealth of experience. He also carries out our machinery work within the company and is a good all rounder with engine building and engine fitting. Pete also carries out our specialist work which includes fuel injector extraction on many of our modern commercial vehicles.

ANT MORLEY
Ant is 38 years old and he started life in the trade at the age of 14, working for Arterial Motors in Victory Road, Derby. At 18 Ant continued in his career working for Service Garage in Borrowash where he specialised in common rail diesel engines and injectors. Now Ant works for our company where he carries out all our major engine repairs. Ant has great knowledge in engine build and engine diagnostics and is fully qualified with all his trade certificates.

STEPHEN CURZON
Stephen Curzon is 37 years old and he began his life in the trade in the year 2000 as a panel beater. Now Stevens experience throughout the years has led him into engine fitting and engine building and one of his greatest talents lie within engine management systems and motor vehicle diagnostics. Stephen is also qualified for the Bosch KTS management diagnostics machine. He is also skilled with our machinery within the company and enjoys reconditioning cylinder heads. Stephen is fully City & Guild qualified to install service and maintain air conditioning.

LUKE MORLEY
Luke is the son of Ant Morley and is 19 years of age. Like his father, Luke was trained at Derby College and has always helped his father from an early age. Luke has now joined our company and he specialises in head gasket work, cambelts, timing chain kit replacements and also engine fitting. Luke is also trained in engine diagnostics and has all the necessary skills to specialise in engine reconditioning in the near future.
